With the coming of the Year 2020, on behalf of the Council of the Global Biodiversity and Health Big Data (BHBD) Alliance, I would like to express my sincere gratitude and best wishes to all members and supporters of the BHBD Alliance!
Over the past year from launching in October 2018, BHBD have made sound achievements with the supports from IUBS, CAS, MOST of China, and CAST. As of January 2020, 24 organizational members from 11 countries have joined the Alliance. In 2019, we have conducted four bilateral and three multilateral activities, co-organized three international meetings, signed MOU/DOU with four institutions, and implemented training programs for eight foreign researchers in China and over 100 people in Pakistan. BHBD has joined the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) as one of its associated alliances. The BHBD Scientific Programme has also been approved by IUBS. All these achievements have laid a good foundation for the future development of BHBD.
In 2020, taking the opportunities of new supports, we will make more efforts to expand our international cooperation network, conduct bilateral and multilateral activities, and facilitate scientific collaboration among members, in order to promote the level of participation for global biodiversity and health big data sharing.
Looking forward to welcoming more new members of the BHBD family!
Chairperson of the BHBD Alliance
