Description |
Genetic adaptation is a central focus of evolutionary biology, but studies most often focus on the host’s genome and only rarely on the its co-evolved microbiome. Here we report a genetic basis in the rumen microbiome for the convergent evolution of the rumen microbiome for energy harvesting persistence in two typical high-altitude ruminants, yak (Bos grunniens) and Tibetan-sheep (T-sheep) (Ovis aries). |
