Organisms Macaca mulatta
Description We generated 299.6 Gbp SMRT sequencing data (100-fold genome coverage) for rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta), 304 Gbp BioNano Saphyr sequencing data (101-fold genome coverage), 308 Gbp Hi-C sequencing data (105-fold genome coverage) and 150 Gbp Illumina short-read sequencing data (50-fold genome coverage). Using FALCON assembler and multiple scaffolding strategies, we generate a rhesus assembly (rheMacS) of 2.95 Gbp with contig N50 length of 8.19 Mbp and scaffolds N50 length of 13.64 Mbp. RheMacS improve almost 75 times for contiguity and 15 times completeness comparing to the latest version of rhesus monkey reference genome rheMac8.
