Description Follicular development (folliculogenesis) is a well-orchestrated and multistage process including oocyte growth (oogenesis) and maturation, as well as granulosa cell proliferation. The bidirectional communications between oocytes and GCs is vital for oocytes maturation and follicle growth. In this study, we first generated the high-quality mouse transcriptome profiles of oocyte and GCs at seven sequential stages of follicle growth in vivo. Then, we analyzed the key regulators and the significant crosstalk pathways between oocyte and GCs throughout folliculogenesis, which are excepted to be modulated to develop novel approaches to diagnose follicle abnormalities and treat infertility in the future.
