Title Benzene induces malignant transformation of pre-leukemia cells
Relevance Environmental
Data types Whole genome sequencing
Transcriptome or Gene expression
Organisms Mus musculus
Description Benzene is a widely used organic solvent. Long-term chronic benzene exposure mainly damages the hematopoietic system, but the specific mechanism is unknown. This study reproduced the entire process of benzene-induced malignant transformation of AML in mice, and found that benzene exposure up-regulated the malignant proliferation and self-renewal ability of pre_leukemia cells, and may induce more genome damage and leukemia-related mutations.
