Description |
We provide normal human dermal endothelial cell atlas of over 42,000 single-cell transcriptomes. A mixture of vascular endothelial cells (ECs) and lymphatice endothelial cells (LECs) were generated. Analysis of dermal ECs were mainly focused. Unbiased clustering revealed six major types of human dermal ECs, characterized by diverse markers along the arteriovenous axis. Pseudotime analysis revealed a circling trajectory among capillary and venule EC subtypes, indicating a developmentally similar phenotype shared among them. Of note, dermal capillary ECs abundantly expressing HLA class II molecules indicated its immune-surveillance role.Metabolic transcriptomics varied across dermal EC arteriovenous axis. Our study provides a comprehensive characterization of EC features and heterogeneity in human dermis and sets the stage for future research in identifying disease-specific alterations of dermal ECs in various dermatoses. |
