Description |
Maize (Zea mays) is one of important economical crops in the world, but its yield is severely threatened by the insect pests. The rapid accumulation of JA and its bioactive form JA and Isoleucine conjugates (JA-Ile) appears on insect-damaged tissues and MYC2 is the essential transcript factor to control the expression of most of the defense genes depending on the JA signaling pathway. However, it is unclear how MYC2 regulate the defense response in maize. Previous research found that the transgenic plants that silencing ZmMYC2 was more susceptible to Mythiana separate larvae. In order to understand genes that are regulated by ZmMYC2, RNA-seq analysis was conducted. |
