Description Hepatocarcinogenesis is a complex multistep process, resulting from the accumulations of multiple mutations. However, the genomic alterations associated with tumor evolution have seldom been evaluated in hepatocarcinogenesis. The present study aims to investigate the genetic and evolutionary relationships among co-existing lesions of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), premalignant liver cirrhosis (LC) and dysplastic nodules (DN).
