Title Single cell analysis of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis lesion microenvironment reveals immunosuppressive and lesion metastasis-facilitating statuses
Relevance Medical
Data types Transcriptome or Gene expression
Organisms Homo sapiens
Description Human alveolar echinococcosis (AE), caused by infection with the small cyclophyllid tapeworm Echinococcus multilocularis, is a malignant-tumor-like infiltrating chronic disease, which majorly locates in the liver and has the potential to invade neighboring tissues or metastasize to distant organs. However, immune cell infiltration and their functional status in AE lesion microenvironment (LME) still remain unknown. Here, combining single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and single-cell T cell receptor (TCR) sequencing technologies. This work has revealed an initial immune landscape of AE-LME at single-cell level, and provided a conceptualized framework for the discovery of rational therapeutic targets in hepatic AE.
