Organisms Zea mays
Description This project will collect the drought-tolerant phenotypes of CIMMYT materials at multiple growth stages and Chinese materials at adult stage; conduct RNA-seq and eQTL analysis to partial materials; integrate all the data matrix to dissect the genetic bases of maize drought-tolerance via GWAS; reveal the roles and mechanisms of key candidate genes in maize drought tolerance via overexpression and CRISPR approaches; develop molecular markers based on all datasets and generate drought-tolerant new materials based on these markers and evaluate the usage of these materials and markers in maize breeding.
