Description | Amounting evidence has shown that sex plays a crucial role for glucose homeostasis and onset risk of diabetes. Based on pancreatic β cell transcriptome profiling at single cell resolution, we focused on identifying sexually dimorphic transcriptomes and sex-dependent type 2 diabetes genes. Given the importance revealed by our study that different pathological mechanisms of type 2 diabetes exist between sexes, sex differences should be taken into consideration for innovative precision medicine when treating diabetes. | ||||||||||
