Description |
The endangered Aral barbel Luciobarbus brachycephalus is endemic to the water systems of Caspian Sea and Aral Sea. The species should be an important protein source because of its saline-alkaline acclimation, fast growth rate, and full of nutrition. However, some pitfalls such as the less brood amount and higher fry death rate may hamper its popularity. Given the scarcity of genetic data for the species, here we present a draft assembly based on the PacBio long reads sequencing technology. |
