Description |
In this study, we presented a new assembly pipeline to produce a gapless 397.71-Mb genome for the indica rice cultivar Minghui 63, which is composed of 12 contigs with a contig N50 size of 31.93 Mb, and each chromosome is represented by a single contig. Compared with the japonica rice, the indica genome has more transposable elements (TEs) and segmental duplications (SDs), and our findings suggest that active TEs and SDs together provide synergistic effects to promote rice genome evolution. |
