Title Peripheral nerve injury induced cell-types dependent transcriptomic changes in the retrosplenial cortex
Relevance Medical
Data types Transcriptome or Gene expression
Organisms Mus musculus
Description The retrosplenial cortex (RSC) processes nociceptive information, and it presents structural and molecular changes after nerve injury. In contrast, the detailed transcriptional changes in the RSC were unknown. Here we confirmed the involvements of RSC in the regulation of pain sensation and observed that the same peripheral stimulation activated more splenial neurons after nerve injury. Using a single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) approach, we identified the cell-type-specific differential expression genes (DEGs) that may convey the cell-type dependent functional impairments.
