Description |
Hematologic neoplasms are often underrepresented in pan-cancer genomic studies. Here we report an analysis of 730 myeloid neoplasm patients, along with 462 lymphoid neoplasm cases serving as the outgroup, that identified gene clusters with distinct mutational spectra cross eight diagnoses. Moreover, we found that genetic aberrations and clinical manifestations jointly defined a 'Pan-Myeloid Axis' along which cancer genes were aligned in a sequential order. Utilizing relational information of gene mutations along this axis improved predictive accuracy of treatment outcome in adult patients of de novo acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. |
