Title Lineage Reprogramming of Fibroblasts into Functional Neurons and Hepatocytes via Chemically Induced XEN-like State
Relevance Medical
Data types Transcriptome or Gene expression
Organisms Mus musculus
Description Direct lineage reprogramming has emerged as a promising approach for generating desired cell types. We found that chemically induced XEN-like cells can be induced during chemical induction of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from mouse fibroblasts. Here, we show that these chemically induced XEN-like cells can also be induced to directly reprogram into functional hepatocytes and neurons, bypassing the pluripotent state.
