The big-head schizothorcin (Aspiorhynchus laticeps) is an endemic and near-extinction freshwater fish in Xinjiang, China. In this study, a chromosome-scale genome assembly of A. laticeps was generated using PacBio and Hi-C techniques. The assembled genome sequence provides useful and valuable information for elucidating the genetic adaptation and underlying molecular basis of endangerment process of A. laticeps, which can facilitate to establish more effective management and conservation strategies of this species. These genomic data can be also used in future comparative genomics and phylogenomics studies to investigate genomic evolution and phylogeny of schizothorcins. |
