Description |
Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) contains two different complexes, including CBX-containing canonical PRC1 (cPRC1) and RYBP/YAF2-containing variant PRC1 (vPRC1).In this study, we investigated the function of RYBP and its homolog YAF2. We showed that RYBP competes with YAF2 in binding to E3 ligase Ring1B, core subunit of PRC1 complex. During neural differentiation of embryonic stem cells (ESCs), the expression of RYBP and YAF2 goes down and up, respectively. Rybp loss impaired neural differentiation. However, Yaf2 loss promoted neural differentiation. Their different behavior might be caused by their differentially catalytic capacity of H2AK119ub. |
