The recurrent heat stress and pathogen invasion pose serious threats to both crop production and food security. Small RNAs regulate plant growth, development and stress responses through distinct modes of action on their targets. However, there is little evidence documenting the role of plant-specific phased small interfering RNAs (phasiRNAs) in coordinately regulating growth, immunity and thermotolerance in rice (Oryza sativa). |
