Dring the work of routine breeding of plums (named Meili, short for B), we found a bud mutation plum plant (named Meiliyabian, short for By), of which the fruit had a longer maturity period and tasted more delicious than the protospecies type. This bud mutation plum plant can be developed into a new plum variety and used as parental materials. In order to better understand the difference in fruit between By and B, transcriptome was performed on an illumine Hiseq 4000 platform to analysis the fruit at different development stage in the two plum varieties. In this study, the main changes caused by bud mutation were revealed by screening the differentially expressed genes between By and its genetic origins. |
