Description We characterized and dissected bread wheat spike into eight developmental stages, and used genome-wide gene expression and epigenetic profiling, to investigate the underlying regulatory mechanisms and mining key genes associated with spike morphology and development. The epigenetic profiling includes four types of histone modifications, a histone variant H2A.Z and chromatin accessibility.
