Description |
Endometriosis is an important cause of infertility in reproductive-aged women and is characterized by the presence and growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. It's reported that infertility from endometriosis is caused by excessive oxidative stress (OS) on follicular growth. To further investigate the molecular mechanisms by which ovarian endometriosis suppresses ovulation, we established an endometriosis mouse model and OS mouse model using NAP (a drug often used in rodents to evoke and maintain high reactive oxygen species levels in vivo) and examined mice with or without treatment of the antioxidant melatonin. Then mouse ovarian granulosa cells were harvested and transcriptional profiling was carried out to identify effected genes. |
