Description |
The transcriptome data were come from a selected chicken line (jingxing yellow chicken) that was constructed by selecting on heterophil to lymphocyte ratio (H/L) for ten generations with the base population consisting of 200 males and 500 females. All individuals in each generation had H/L measured at 56 days of age. Individuals with low H/L were selected to build 30 families, each having a male:female ratio of 1:3; that is,30 roosters and 90 hens were used to breed the next generation, while avoiding inbreeding. At the same time, a control population (non-selection line) was maintained using pooled semen to breed each next generation. About 700-800 individuals were hatched in each respective generation of the selected line and the control line. The tissues of bursa of fabricius and caecum were collected from the 7-days-old chicks after sallmonella typhimurium infectionm for 3 days. |
