As a new source of natural fibrefibers, the Bombax ceiba tree can provide the thinnest, lightest and an extremely soft warm fibre fiber material for the textile industry. Nature fibrefiber is an ideal model for cell growth and differentiation studies, but the molecular regulation mechanisms underlying fibrefiber initiation are not understood well enough. Our study revealed expression signatures during fibrefiber initiation in B. ceiba at single-cell resolution, and provides a new strategy and viewpoint for the investigation of natural fibrefiber cell differentiation and development. |
