Title Overnutrition-induced hypothalamic epigenetic changes
Relevance Model organism
Data types Epigenomics

Organisms Mus musculus
Description Histone modifications, such as H3K4me3, H3K27ac, H3K9me3, H3K27me3, and H3K36me3, were shown to be enriched in specific regions in the genome and to be positively or negatively correlated with gene activity. By contrast, DNA methylation 5-methylcytosine has been mostly enriched in regions correlated with suppressed gene expression. Previous studies showed that hypothalamic epigenetic pattern change with animal development and other physiological processes, however, a comprehensive analysis remains largely lacking, especially under the condition of diet-induced obesity (DIO). In this study, by leveraging ChIP-seq, MeDIP-seq and RNA-seq approaches, we aim to fill this knowledge gap.
