Description To comprehensively resolve the tumor ecosystem heterogeneity during different periods of HNSC including initiation, progression, lymph node metastasis, and recurrence, we used scRNA-seq (10X Genomics) to profile malignant and non-malignant cells of 26 fresh samples from 13 patients, including 3 normal tissues (NT), 3 pre-cancer lesions (Pre), 3 early-stage tumors (E), 6 advanced-stage tumors (A), 3 intracapsular metastatic lymph nodes (LN-in), 2 extracapsular metastatic lymph nodes (LN-out), 2 normal lymph nodes (LN-normal), and 4 recurrent tumors (R), among which NT-pre-E were patient-matched.
