Adrenal glands are small endocrine organs that secrete steroids throughout life to regulate metabolism, stress responses, and immune system activation. With age, these capabilities become blunted, thereby promoting aging and affecting health at a systemic level. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying primate adrenal aging remain largely uninvestigated. Thus, we here established the first single-nucleus transcriptomic atlas of both young and aged primate suprarenal glands. |
