Title Coinfection of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A in a patient with long COVID
Relevance Medical
Data types Metagenome
Organisms Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2
Description This is a clinical case of coinfection with SARS-CoV-2 and H3N2. This study highlights the value of using mNGS to detect SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A in BALF, which can aid in timely diagnosis. To our knowledge, this is the first time a long COVID case has been identified using mNGS. Clinicians should be aware of the potential for long COVID in patients with such characteristics and consider using the use of mNGS to quickly identify infections and provide effective treatment interventions.
Sample scope Clinical metagenome
