Relevance | Evolution | ||||||||
Data types | Whole genome sequencing
Organisms | Oryza sativa
Description | Pigmented rice stands out for its nutrition and is gaining more and more attentions. From wild rice to domesticated red rice and de-domesticated rice, all have red pericarp and keep an intact genetic background of rice and therefore an ideal population for studying history of rice domestication and genetic improvement. In this study, we collected 5,229 accessions worldwide (the 5k genomes) including 2.8k rice accessions with red or black pericarp (85 newly sequenced by this study).
