Description Neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) are extremely lethal malignancies that can arise at almost any anatomic site. They are characterized by rapid growth, early metastasis, and significant heterogeneity. To identify determinants of their heterogeneity, we conducted transcriptomic sequencing, transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing, and spatial transcriptomic sequencing on NECs. We revealed the key role of master transcriptional factors in determining the molecular subtypes of NECs.
