Title Studies on molecular basis of pigmentation evolution and variation of common carp based on whole genome re-sequencing and genome editing technologies
Relevance Agricultural
Data types Transcriptome or Gene expression
Raw sequence reads
Organisms Cyprinus carpio
Description This study investigated the regulatory gene network underlying the unusual phenotype that evolved in a mating experiment of TYRP1 mutant of Oujiang color common carp, where TYRP1 had been knocked out via CRISPR-Cas9 technology. High throughput transcriptomic data were collected from four separate color phenotypes: 1. skin of coffee-like color of TYRP1 mutant, 2. white skin of TYRP1 mutant, 3. black skin of wild type, and 4. white skin of wild type.
