Title Study on the application value of whole-genome sequencing in the evolution, transmission and treatment outcome of drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains
Relevance Medical
Data types Whole genome sequencing
Raw sequence reads
Organisms Mycobacterium tuberculosis
Description In recent years, based on genomic DNA, the whole-genome sequencing technology (WGS) integrated with computer technology has provided a comprehensive description of the genomic characteristics of drug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This has filled the research gaps in the evolution and transmission of drug-resistant tuberculosis, as well as the mechanisms of resistance to traditional and new anti-tuberculosis drugs. It has laid a solid technological foundation for the comprehensive, accurate, and integrated determination of the evolution, transmission and drug resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Therefore, the application of WGS technology in the local area for the study of drug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis transmission and treatment holds significant clinical and public health importance.
