Title mouse mtDNA mutations during aging
Relevance Medical
Data types Genome sequencing
Organisms Mus musculus
Description To study the mtDNA mutations of male mouse intestine during aging, we used polymerase gamma (POLG) mutator mice and wild-type mice, and constructed male mice with four theoretically increasing levels of mtDNA mutations: negligible (WT/WT), low (WT/WT*), moderate (WT/Mut**) and high (Mut/Mut***). We seuqenced mtDNA of male mouse intestine at 3, 8 and 12 months. We also sequenced mtDNA of WT male mouse intestine at 20 months, and mtDNA of WT male mouse brain and liver at 3 and 8 months.
