Title |
SOP10 enhances cold tolerance by modulating mitochondrial superoxide in rice |
Relevance |
Agricultural |
Data types |
Raw sequence reads
STS-PCR-seq of rice mitochondrial transcripts
|
Organisms |
Oryza sativa
|
Description |
SOP10 encodes a mitochondria localized pentatricopeptide repeat (PPR) protein functions in the intron splicing of the nad4 and nad5, and RNA editing efficiency of the nad2, nad6, and rps4. Single mutation of SOP10 in indica rice varieties enhanced cold tolerance with lower ROS levels. The findings indicate that the superoxide generated in the mitochondrial electron transport chain complex I plays a key role in the low-temperature albino phenotype of ospus1 and cold responses in rice. |
