| Description | The naturally occurring rd8 (retinal degeneration 8) mutant mice (Rd8 mice) bear a frame-shifting mutation that introduces a premature stop codon in the Crb1 gene, thereby resulting in a transmembrane and cytoplasmic domain-truncated CRB1 protein.
