This project aims to investigate and elucidate the functional role of the GmCMT (Chromomethylase) gene in soybean development. GmCMT, a key gene involved in DNA methylation, plays a crucial role in epigenetic regulation, which is fundamental to plant growth, development, and adaptation to environmental stressors. In soybeans, the significance of this gene, however, remains largely unexplored. this project promises to offer vital insights into the role of epigenetic regulation in soybeans, potentially leading to advanced strategies for crop improvement and stress resilience. The outcomes could be significant for agricultural practices, especially in enhancing soybean yield and quality under various environmental conditions. |
