Description |
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent joint disease affecting approximately 300 million individuals worldwide, and its pathogenesis remains incompletely elucidated. In recent years, the understanding of OA has evolved from being solely focused on cartilage to encompassing the entire joint. The infrapatellar fat pad (IFP), an adipose tissue component within the knee joint, has emerged as a potential contributor to the progression of knee osteoarthritis (KOA). To gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying OA occurrence and development, we conducted single-cell sequencing analysis on IFP samples obtained from five normal knee joints and five OA patients. Additionally, subcutaneous fat samples were collected from one OA patient and one healthy donor |
