Title CAV2-expressing Nerves induce Metabolic Switch toward Mitochondrial Oxidative Phosphorylation to Promote Cancer Stemness
Relevance Medical
Data types Transcriptome or Gene expression
Organisms Homo sapiens
Description This study primarily discusses how tumors induce the expression of CAV2 in nerves, and how nerve-derived CAV2 facilitates the interaction between tumors and nerves. To investigate the impact of neural CAV2 on tumor cells, we conducted sequencing on head and neck squamous carcinoma cells co-cultured with wild-type trigeminal ganglia and those co-cultured with CAV2-knockout trigeminal ganglia. The results suggest that neural CAV2 plays a role in influencing the oxidative phosphorylation metabolic phenotype and the maintenance of stemness in tumor cells.
