Description |
This study utilized the 10x Genomics single-cell RNA sequencing method to analyze changes in immune cell lineages in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of three severe COVID-19 patients. The research revealed a significant increase in the activation of specific immune cell lineages in COVID-19 patients compared to healthy controls, notably monocytes/neutrophils and macrophages. Furthermore, our study found that the highly activated monocytes and neutrophils, rather than macrophages, were the source of the exacerbated immune response characterized by increased IL1β. |
