Title Effect of oxytocin on intestinal microbial diversity in rats with nicotine addiction
Relevance Model organism
Data types Metagenome
Organisms Rattus norvegicus
Description We established a rat model of nicotine addiction by self-administration drug model, injected oxytocin into the abdominal cavity, and analyzed the composition of intestinal flora after collecting rat feces. The aim of our study was to determine whether the administration of oxytocin had an effect on the composition of the intestinal flora in nicotine-addicted rat. The results showed that oxytocin did not change the flora abundance and species diversity of intestinal flora, but significantly reduced the abundance of Lactobacillus at the genus level.
