Description Synthetic biology is a multi-disciplinary field aiming to rewire a biological behavior in a man-made life systems. Based on a reasonal design, gentic parts are orderly assembled to complete a genetic cirtuit for effective production of desired products. In the past decades, many developed technical applications have been applicated in production of plant secondary metabolites, as well as genetic therapy. However, the aforementioned sussesses mainly produced in a microbal chassis, thus there are many problems that need to be solved, and new chassis systems need to be developed. Compared to microorganisms, plant-based cells have unique advantages in terms of accurate protein processing systems, and autotrophically produce diverse precursor by using carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. In this project, the researches focus on the rational design and assemble the genetic circuit for the synthesis of valuable natural product in E.coli and plant-based hosts. In addition, a plant-based biology bioparts database has also been bulited.
