| Description |
To explore whether gene expression profiles of primary rectal carcinomas could offer a specific gene signature that determine response to preoperative chemoradiotherapy, we conducted a study with eighty-one individuals with locally advanced rectal carcinomas to establish a molecular signature for response classification based on genome-wide mRNA expression analysis. Class-comparison statistics between good response patients (Tumor Regression Grade 1 and 2) and poor response patients (Tumor Regression Grade 4 and 5) were used to correlate the expression results with tumor regression grade after preoperative chemoradiotherapy. |
