描述信息 Cardiovascular diseases have emerged as a significant public health challenge in China. Congenital heart disease (CHD), the most prevalent birth defect in the country, accounts for approximately 28% of all congenital anomalies and can result severe symptoms such as hypoxia, shock, and even neonatal mortality. The underlying cause is often abnormal heart development during embryogenesis. Despite advancements in identifying regulatory factors and subclasses of cardiac progenitor cells, our understanding of how these cells differentiate from the mesoderm and the mechanisms governing their lineage progression and fate determination remains incomplete. This project endeavors to precisely locate and trace early embryonic cardiac progenitor cells, unveiling the external (morphogen gradients) and internal (gene transcription and epigenetic regulatory networks) regulatory mechanisms. By elucidating the mechanisms of cardiac progenitor cell formation and fate determination, this project aims to contribute to the prevention and treatment of heart development-related diseases. The project encompasses four research topics: 1. Precise Localization and Epigenetic Analysis of Cardiac Progenitor Cells: To pinpoint the location of cardiac progenitor cells and analyze their epigenetic signatures. 2. The Role and Mechanism of Morphogens in the Generation of Cardiac Progenitor Cells: To investigate the functions and mechanisms of morphogens in initiating the formation of cardiac progenitor cells. 3. Regulatory Mechanisms of Epigenetic Regulatory Networks in the Specification of Cardiac Progenitor Cells: To explore how epigenetic regulatory networks control the differentiation of cardiac progenitor cells.4. Intervention Mechanisms in the Generation and Fate Determination of Human Cardiac Progenitor Cells: To study the mechanisms that can be intervened to influence the generation and fate determination of human cardiac progenitor cells.
