描述信息 Impaired wound healing is an obvious clinical concern that can be hindered by bacteria infection and inflammation. Although photodynamic therapy (PDT) has shown promise in anti-bacterial infection, the wound healing process is slow due to the lack of anti-inflammation function during treatment. To address this challenge, we have developed a photodynamic-based adjustable therapy to prevent infection and excessive inflammation, and accelerate wound healing. This strategy eliminates bacteria by generation sufficient reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO), then reduces inflammation by supplying oxygen (O2) and sustaining NO. Meanwhile, an adjustable therapeutic schedule based on the pH indicator was designed to conduct anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activities at the proper stage during wound healing treatment. Here, we demonstrate the potential of this therapy for enhanced anti-infection, and ameliorate wound inflammation, providing a supportive environment for skin and superficial skeletal muscle wound healing in mice, rabbits and pigs. Collectively, our strategy provides an approach to apply PDT with transformative potential for infected skin and subcutaneous tissue wound healing.
