Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a complex mental health condition characterized by persistent sadness, loss of interest, and various cognitive and physical impairments. Omics studies, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, have been increasingly utilized to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying MDD. These approaches enable the identification of genetic variants, dysregulated gene expression, altered protein networks, and metabolic changes associated with MDD. Integrating multi-omics data can provide a comprehensive understanding of the disorder, aid in identifying biomarkers, and pave the way for personalized therapeutic strategies. |
