Description |
To investigate the function and molecular mechanism of the gynoecious genes in bitter gourd, the gynoecious inbred line gy1 was used to hybridize with the monoecious inbred lines MC52-1 and k8 to construct F2 segregating populations for genetic analysis of gynoecious genes. The results showed that the gynoecious traits were controlled by a single nuclear recessive gene, which was named gy1-1. The F2 segregating population obtained from hybridization of gynoecious line gy1 and monoecious line K8 were applied to construct extreme trait mixed pools of gynoecious line and monoecious line (female flower rate<3%). Through whole genome resequencing (BSA-seq) analysis combined with map-based cloning technology, the gynoecious gene gy1-1 was found to be mapped within the interval of marked G-10 and G-12. The related interval is located at 20.98-21.05 Mb on chromosome MC01, with a size of about 70.97 kb. |
