In this study, it was found that the abundances of Actinobacteria, Thaumarchaeota, Nitrospirae, and Ascomycota associated with nitrogen cycling were dramatically increased in salt and drought combined soils. Metabolomic analysis revealed a strong beneficial perturbation of biosynthesis of secondary metabolites, biosynthesis of other secondary metabolites, and amino acid metabolism in these soils. In contrast to single salt stress, several plant hormones dramatically increased in combined-treated groups, which may enhance the ability to withstand stress. |
