Wuzhishan minipigs are native to Hainan Province in China, and characterized by tasty meat and strong resistance to a subtropical climate. Importantly, it was a promising animal model for the investigating of human disease, and its entire and accurate genome reference is urgent need. Therefore, we assembled the Wuzhishan pig genome by Hifiasm using the ONT Ultra-long, Hifi and HiC data, and finally obtained a genome reference with telomere sequences on the ends of each chromosome. The Wuzhishan genome reference was a critical foundation for porcine livestock and human disease research. |
