This study aims to conduct a thorough genome sequencing of papaya, with a particular emphasis on resolving the complete haplotype genome of the HSY region, which is critical for understanding sex determination in papaya. By delving into the genetic and molecular basis of this mechanism, the research seeks to shed light on the evolutionary processes involved in papaya's sex chromosomes. Additionally, the study investigates the functional role of the CpEMB506 plastid protein in embryo development, employing advanced molecular techniques such as gene editing, expression regulation, biotin labeling, yeast two-hybrid analysis, and protein interaction studies. Together, these objectives are expected to significantly contribute to both the understanding of papaya's sex determination and the regulatory pathways involved in its embryonic development, offering new insights into the evolutionary relationship between these processes. |
