描述信息 Gene transcription is a fundamental process that plays critical roles in regulating cellular functionality and organismal development. The activation of gene transcription is a highly coordinated event that necessitates the orchestrated engagement of various transcription factors (TFs) and the transcription apparatus to access DNA at specific gene promoters and enhancers. The DNA accessibility, the most important prerequisite for the initiation of gene transcription, is produced by chromatin remodelers, which utilize ATP to reposition or evict nucleosomes from the DNA. Although it is well established that chromatin remodelers maintain an accessible chromatin environment, the mechanism how they are directed to specific genomic regions are not fully understood. Here we find that IDR-mediated selective co-condensation between TFs and chromatin remodeler represents a mechanism for specific gene activation.
